Trader Joe’s is blaming the three recalls with an issue with the manufacturing processes in the facilities.

Trader Joe’s recalls three products in one week

The reasons? Rocks and insects

Trader Joe’s is still recovering from a series of recent product recalls.

Three separate recalls were issued, involving two types of cookies, broccoli cheddar soup, and fully- cooked falafel, reports the Associated Press.

Rocks in cookies and falafel

On July 21, two brands of cookies — Trader Joe’s Almond Windmill Cookies and Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Chunk Almond Cookies — were pulled because rocks may have been mistakenly included in the ingredients. The “sell by” dates range was Oct. 17-21.

Trader Joe’s Fully Cooked Falafel was another victim of recall last week, also due to the risk of shoppers finding rocks in the product.

Insects in soup

The grocer also had to recall Trader Joe’s Unexpected Broccoli Cheddar Soup because it might contain insects. The infected product had “use by” dates ranging from July 18 to Sept. 15.

Trader Joe’s is blaming the three recalls with an issue with the manufacturing processes in the facilities. The Monrovia, Calif.-based retailer has pulled all the recalled products from the shelves. Exactly how many units involved in the recall has not been revealed, nor have the names of the suppliers.
