EL SEGUNDO, Calif. Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market is spicing up the bakery in select stores with 60 new baked goods and desserts, the retailer announced. Additions include new types of bagels, scones, cookies, breads, pies, cupcakes and pastries as well as seasonal, gluten-free and organic products.

New dessert items were designed by Josiah Huelle, Fresh & Easy's dessert development chef. Customers can participate in a Facebook chat with Huelle to learn about the new offerings on Sept. 21 at 12 p.m. PST.

Fresh & Easy also posted a Facebook gallery featuring some of its new desserts.

"My baking philosophy has always been to keep things simple and let the ingredients speak for themselves. And that's what we did with these new desserts," Huelle said in a statement. "I'm excited that our customers can now enjoy these naturally flavorful, high-quality and affordable treats. We worked hard to create delicious and innovative products that our customers will love."

The newly added organic and gluten-free options come from Fresh & Easy’s private label as well as Liz Lovely, Flax-4-Life and No Bake Cookie Company. The retailer will also be the sole West Coast seller of desserts from European brand Gü.

All new bakery items adhere to Fresh & Easy’s commitment to avoid artificial colors and flavors, high-fructose corn syrup, and added trans fats.
