The Fresh Market customers contributed $300,045 to the non-profit No Kid Hungry during the retailer’s third annual Cupcakes for a Cause campaign, the retailer announced.

Stores raised funds via a cupcake decorating event, Cupcakes for a Cause paper cupcake sales, and sales of the retailer’s reusable bags. The Fresh Market donated all proceeds to No Kid Hungry.

“Childhood hunger is a problem that affects nearly every community in our country, and The Fresh Market is honored to play a role in helping No Kid Hungry raise awareness and funds to combat this issue,” CEO Rick Anicetti said in a press release. “We hope The Fresh Market customers and employees have been inspired by the Cupcakes for a Cause program to fight childhood hunger in America, and we are grateful for their generosity.”

The campaign took place during the month of September.
