Giant Eagle has opened its first kosher bakery at a location in Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood, according to a report in The Jewish Chronicle.

PITTSBURGH — Giant Eagle here has opened its first kosher bakery at a location in Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood, according to a report in The Jewish Chronicle.
The bakery will prepare kosher cakes, cookies, breads and a variety of other products in-store, certified by Vaad Harabanim of Greater Pittsburgh. Plans for the bakery were hatched four to five months ago, following requests from local rabbis.
The bakery had a soft opening two weeks ago, and has been fully operational for a week, according to the report.
