BRAMPTON, Ontario — Loblaw Cos. rolled out a selection of gluten-free bakery items under its President’s Choice label that are certified by the Canadian Celiac Association's Gluten-Free Certification Program.

The line includes brownies, cookies, cakes, muffins and bread, all priced at $5.99 (Canadian). It is the first private-label line in Canada to earn the GFCP designation, according to Loblaw.

"The number of Canadians diagnosed with Celiac disease, experiencing sensitivities to gluten or choosing to follow a gluten-free diet is increasing, and we are pleased to be able to offer President's Choice gluten-free products certified by the trusted GFCP trademark," Ian Gordon, senior vice president, Loblaw Brands, said in a statement.

The gluten-free baked goods are available for purchase at select Loblaw banner stores in Ontario.
