Winn-Dixie Stores is recalling 1.75-quart cartons of “Prestige Chocolate Ice Cream” marked with the plant code 12-356.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Winn-Dixie Stores here is recalling 1.75-quart cartons of “Prestige Chocolate Ice Cream” marked with the plant code 12-356. Although some of the products may have the correct lid identifying the product as chocolate almond, the tub identifies the product as only chocolate. Although the company hasn’t received reports from customers in connection with this problem, people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products, according to the retailer. The recalled item was distributed to Winn-Dixie and Save-Rite stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. The chain is offering refunds or exchanges to customers who purchased the ice cream.
