Expo West 2017 trends: Brands with a mission

New Hope Network recently hosted its 37th annual Natural Products Expo West conference and trade show. All kinds of trends were evident. Protein—both plant- and animal-based—continues to be hot. Free-from was everywhere with a strong presence of dairy-free and grain-free alternatives. Bone broths, souping (think a juice cleanse but with soup) and cold-brewed beverages were also prominent.

But the brands generating a big buzz at the show seemed to be those supporting a mission, using their presence to create awareness for several worthwhile causes.  Brands with a mission will likely be a longer term trend, as consumers can feel good knowing their purchase is playing a small bit in being a part of the solution. Here are a few of the trailblazing brands with a mission that caught this attendee’s eye.
