NEW YORK — The Food Emporium will host a “Taste of Africa” food sampling from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at its BridgeMarket store at 405 East 59th St. The store will showcase various African foods, including Zena exotic fruit jams, Elephant Pepper spices and sauces, Nando’s Marinades and Peri Peri sauces, and Zoe Diva Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Bing Alo-Villareal, the consulate general of South Africa, will attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The store will also host a wine tasting from 2 to 3 p.m. to highlight wines that complement food showcased in the sampling.
