NEW YORK — The Food Emporium will bring the flavors of Austria to its stores here Friday with its “Taste of Nature” collection, including exclusive products being introduced to the U.S. market for the first time.
Among the items to be exclusively distributed by the chain: Weiser Wachau Austrian jams and chutneys sourced from the Wachau valley, Thurnhofer confections like dried pears dipped in pear schnapps and covered in dark chocolate, Höllinger organic sodas made with Sicilian lemons and Brazilian oranges, and Gerstner hand-made chocolates in varieties such as nougat delight, nut ball, almond slice and rum plums.
Food Emporium chose to focus on foods from Austria because of its "deep history in organic farming practices, and the belief that the best flavors come from the taste of nature," according to the retailer.
Taste of Nature comes on the heels of the Food Emporium’s Taste of Quebec program, which launched last month.
