SALISBURY, N.C. — Food Lion has put a unique spin on the traditional free turkey promotions retailers offer for Thanksgiving. It's printing "Thanksgiving Dinner Cards" in its weekly circulars. Customers who present their loyalty card and Thanksgiving dinner card to the cashier and spend $45 or more per visit get a ticket number printed at the bottom of their receipt. Participants can collect six different tickets during the eight-week promotional period, which began Sept. 26 and runs through Nov. 20. Shoppers who present their tickets to customer service by Nov. 27 get a $20 coupon that can be used toward anything in the store, except alcohol, tobacco or lottery tickets.
