EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market has added 130 new wines to its wine department.
As part of the expansion, there are new varietals in the retailer’s Big Kahuna line — a family of wines that has been the grocer’s top selling since its introduction in 2007. They include cabernet sauvignon, merlot and rose.
“We’re excited to offer our customers the newly expanded and delicious range of wines at incredibly affordable prices,” Richard Wherry, category manager of wine and beer for Fresh & Easy, said in a statement. “Having strong partnerships with local wineries helps us to create these high-quality, award-winning wines that are exclusively offered at Fresh & Easy.”
Nearly 170 of the 450 wines offered at Fresh & Easy are exclusive to the company and have earned more than 200 medals and accolades from wine competitions.
Blends come from all over the world, including California, Washington, Oregon, Italy, Spain, Australia, France, Chile, Argentina and New Zealand. The wines range in price from $1.99 to $40, with the majority retailing for under $10 per bottle.
The retailer’s private-label wine labels include tasting notes, vineyard information, food-pairing and storage recommendations.
