General Mills Issues Frozen Pizza Recall

MINNEAPOLIS — General Mills issued the voluntary recall of more than 400,000 cases of Totino’s and Jeno’s frozen pizza because of possible E. coli contamination. The recall includes eight stockkeeping units of Totino’s brand frozen pizza and three SKUs of Jeno’s brand frozen pizza with pepperoni topping, or incorporating pepperoni in combination with other toppings. The products were manufactured in a Wellston, Ohio plant and distributed to retailers throughout the country. The potential problem was discovered by state and federal authorities who were investigating 21 cases of E. coli-related illnesses in 10 states. Nine of the 21 people reported having eaten Totino’s or Jeno’s pizza with pepperoni topping at some point prior to becoming ill.
