WASHINGTON — The Grocery Manufacturers Association yesterday announced staff changes aimed at enhancing its advocacy mission.
On Jan. 1, Mary Sophos took on her new role as executive vice president for policy and strategy planning. She previously served as GMA's senior vice president and chief government affairs officer.
Scott Faber, who served as GMA’s vice president of federal affairs, is now responsible for all federal affairs issues and activities, and will direct GMA’s political action committee and grassroots advocacy efforts. He will report directly to Pam Bailey, president and chief executive officer of GMA.
GMA’s vice president of state affairs, Scott Riehl will also join GMA’s senior management team and report to the CEO.
“As part of our association-wide strategic planning, today’s announcement is one more step we are taking to ensure that we are in the best possible position to deliver on the value proposition that GMA offers its members— continually doing our part to help our members innovate, connect with consumers and provide their customers with the world’s most reliable, affordable and safe food, beverage, consumer and household products,” said Bailey in a statement.
