LINCOLN, Neb. — B&R Stores is attributing improved traffic flow at a Russ’s Market store here to the expansion of its wine and spirits department.

Its alcoholic beverage sets were moved to an adjacent retail space formerly occupied by another business. The new spirits department has its own entrance and dedicated checkout.

A new walk-in beer cooler houses a wider range of domestic and imported beers, as well as seasonal and regional microbrews. The store will showcase its expanded international and local wine selection at a wine-tasting event next Tuesday.

“With the floor space we gained when the wine and spirits were moved, we were able to open up the floor plan in the rest of the store,” said Pat Raybould, president of B&R Stores, in a statement.
