BENTONVILLE, Ark. -- In a message to consumers on its www.walmartfacts.com website about the recent peanut butter recall, Wal-Mart Stores here described a precautionary measure taken at its POS checkouts. The company has programmed a sales restriction on the recalled products so that, should one inadvertently be scanned, "a restriction notice will come up for the cashier," the note read. Wal-Mart has directed its stores and clubs to immediately remove all suspect Peter Pan Peanut Butter and Great Value Peanut Butter based on specific product information provided by ConAgra, the products' manufacturer. Customers may also return already purchased jars of peanut butter with the recalled "2111" product code for a full refund.
