ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Wegmans Food Markets here was recognized at the 2007 Food Network Awards, hosted by Emeril Lagasse. The chain won the “SUPER Market” category, which honored a “grocery chain that has changed the way we shop.” Whole Foods and Trader Joe‘s were the other category nominees. The show, which aired April 15, included appearances by many of the Food Network‘s biggest stars, including Rachael Ray, Giada De Laurentiis and Bobby Flay. “It is always nice to be recognized, but when it comes from folks who love food as much we do, it is extra special,” Wegmans‘ president Colleen Wegman said of the award. “This award belongs to our people. By sharing their knowledge and providing incredible service, they have truly changed the way people shop.”
