TYLER, Texas — Dairy caps produced at Brookshire Grocery Co.’s dairy plant here are now clear in color, Brookshire announced on Thursday.
These clear caps — used for Food Club milk products — have cost savings, and also provide environmental benefits because they are recyclable and have a smaller carbon footprint, Brookshire said in a statement to the press.

“When recycled, clear caps provide more flexibility and options for reuse,” said Mike Giles, vice president of manufacturing at Brookshire’s, in a statement to the media. “The clear caps also reduce packaging and manufacturing costs.”
On the food safety side, Brookshire said that the clear caps allow customers to see a visible printed stamp.
