Grace Unit Taps President

Kaenzig was concurrently appointed senior vice president of Grace Packaging's parent company, W.R. Grace & Co.
Kaenzig was global vice president of planning and business development for Grace Packaging and, prior to that, held various senior management positions in finance, marketing and strategic planning.
He succeeds Jean-Louis Greze in the president's post. Greze will continue to serve as executive vice president and chairman of Grace Packaging until he retires in February 1996.
Dairy Management Names VP
ARLINGTON, Va. -- Dairy Management here has tapped Charles Powell to be its vice president of consumer advertising and trade marketing.
Powell administers generic dairy product advertising and promotion programs in the new position. He reports to Gordon McDonald, group executive of marketing programs and services.
Previously, Powell was vice president of marketing for G. Heileman Brewing Co. for four years, and before that he served as marketing director for the Stroh Brewery in Detroit for 12 years.
"He will help us exploit the advantages our products have in the marketplace, such as persuading consumers to always keep milk in the refrigerator and drink it at a variety of occasions beyond breakfast," said Tom Gallagher, DMI chief executive officer, in a statement.
Dairy Management, a nonprofit organization formed by the National Dairy Board and United Dairy Industry Association, conducts programs in integrated marketing, promotion and research on behalf of the dairy industry.
Pork Council Fills New Post
DES MOINES, Iowa -- The National Pork Producers Council here has named Joe Leathers assistant vice president of trade and distribution, a new post.
Formerly the director of retail merchandising and new products for NPPC, Leathers now manages all consumer marketing programs concerned with the development and distribution of pork products. Retail, food-service and new product marketing and packer-processor relations are his primary concerns.
Before joining NPPC, Leathers was a salesman and retail consultant with Wilson Foods for 10 years, in the packer/processing group. He has also served as a buyer for Supervalu.
Saval Adds Meat Specialist
BALTIMORE -- Saval Foods has appointed Mark Smith to the new position of meat specialist.
Reporting to sales manager Bob Berndt, Smith is responsible for building sales in Saval's manufactured product line, which includes corned beef, roast beef, pastrami, kosher hot dogs, bologna, presliced deli meats and ham products.
Before joining Saval, Smith had been a services specialist with the U.S. Air Force and a chef for the Northwoods Restaurant in Annapolis and for the Resort Grand Palazzo in St. Thomas.
VP Appointed at Gulf King
ARANSAS PASS, Texas -- Gulf King Seafood Co., a division of Herndon Marine Products, has appointed Bill Odelson to the new position of vice president of national retail accounts.
In this position, Odelson is to expand and develop the company's business with supermarkets throughout the United States. He reports to R. Mark Herndon, executive vice president of sales and marketing.
