SOMERS, NY -- Pepsico has entered the dairy market with a new line of low-fat dairy shakes called Smooth Moos Smoothies.

t. "We hope to build an entirely new business by taking a very creative approach to a popular beverage category."

The shakes, which are being tested in Texas and Oklahoma, are destined for supermarket shelves but are currently only available in convenience stores favored by teens, the target market. Flavors include French Vanilla, Strawberry, Banana and Double Chocolate, each of which contain two grams of fat. "There is no direct competition," said company spokesman Brad Shaw. "Some people have been comparing it to Yoo-Hoo but it's actually nothing like Yoo-Hoo, because it's a low-fat dairy shake."
