Wells’ Dairy Selects System for Vendor-Managed Inventory

Wells’ Dairy has selected Prescient Applied Intelligence, West Chester, Pa., to power the vendor-managed inventory (VMI) program that manages the replenishment of its retail partners’ inventory levels, Prescient announced yesterday.

LE MARS, Iowa — Wells’ Dairy here has selected Prescient Applied Intelligence, West Chester, Pa., to power the vendor-managed inventory (VMI) program that manages the replenishment of its retail partners’ inventory levels, Prescient announced yesterday. “When one of our significant business partners approached us about participating in VMI, we saw it as an opportunity to forge a stronger relationship with them,” said Mike Kooistra, director of information services at Wells’ Dairy, in a statement. The VMI solution “will allow us to take more control of ordering and replenishment, avoid lost sales, and provide higher service levels to our customers.” Wells’ Dairy, the largest family-owned and -managed dairy processor in the United States, manufactures Blue Bunny ice cream, frozen dairy desserts and novelties.
