BJ’s Wholesale Club has named David Atkins to the newly created position of VP of Own Brands.

BJ’s Wholesale Club has named David Atkins to the newly created position of VP of own brands.

He will be responsible for brand strategy, marketing, analysis and further development of the Berkley Jensen and Wellsley Farms brands, according to BJ’s.

Atkins was most recently leading a team of brand managers at Meijer, where he oversaw business development for private labels in the pets, baby, consumables and drugstore categories. His 20 years of experience with creating store brands, includes 12 years at Giant Eagle where he was director of own brands, non-foods and natural/specialty foods.
