Dodson Joins CGA in Government Relations Role

The California Grocers Association announced that Matthew Dodson has joined its staff as director of local government relations.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The California Grocers Association here announced that Matthew Dodson has joined its staff as director of local government relations. He will be responsible for CGA’s local government advocacy and outreach for the Southern California region and will research and analyze ordnances and regulatory proposals; draft advocacy plans; and communicate with elected officials, regulators and CGA’s approximately 500 member companies. He will also serve as CGA’s representative in Southern California on many association issues, a role that had been vacant since January. Dodson previously worked as a field representative for California State Sen. Jack Scott, and before that for State Sen. Debra Bowen and City of Los Angeles Councilwoman Cindy Miscikowski, as well as for several political campaigns in Southern California. His office is in Burbank, Calif.
