FMI Names Abel to VP Post

Food Marketing Institute has named Carol Abel vice president, education and research.

ARLINGTON, Va. — Food Marketing Institute here on Wednesday said it has named Carol Abel vice president, education and research.

"As provided in the new FMI strategic plan, we are laser-focused on enhancing our industry education programming and expanding opportunities in leadership development for those who work in our member companies," said FMI President and Chief Executive Officer Leslie G. Sarasin. "Carol has an impressive background and extensive expertise, and her previous success in identifying innovative educational strategies makes her a welcome addition to the FMI team."

Abel most recently was senior director of education strategy and compliance officer at the American Pharmacists Association. She previously was vice president of marketing and director of pharmacy continuing education at LearnSomething, a multimedia and training development company.
