The International Dairy-Deli-Bakery association named Michael Eardley — formerly of H-E-B — to the CEO and president position at the association, effective Aug. 25.

Eardley worked for 13 years at H-E-B, most recently as the director of deli, cheese and prepared foods.

“I’m looking forward to working with the talented and hard-working IDDBA staff and board and welcome the opportunity to develop and meet new short- and long-term goals that keep the association relevant and a vital resource for the industry,” Eardley said in a written statement.

“I’ve been active in the association for a number of years; it’s a great association in a great industry and I anticipate getting up to speed quickly.”

Eardley served as chairman of the IDDBA chairman of the board and was the winner of the association's Chairman's Award.

Carol Christison, who was president and CEO of IDDBA for more than 30 years, passed away this spring.
