Jerry Golub Named Price Chopper President
Price Chopper said Friday that Jerel T. Golub was named president and chief operating officer of the employee-owned chain, succeeding Neil Golub as president.

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Price Chopper here said Friday that Jerel T. Golub was named president and chief operating officer of the employee-owned chain, succeeding Neil Golub as president.

Neil Golub, who had been president since 1982, remains chairman and chief executive officer and will have direct oversight for finance, legal and internal audit. Price Chopper described the move as "further implementation of its succession plan."
Jerel "Jerry" Golub, a 27-year veteran of the company, had been executive vice president and COO since February 2008. In his new position, he will have direct oversight over administration, supply chain, and real estate and construction.
The company also announced a series of other changes:
• Joe Kelley was promoted to executive vice president, reporting to Jerry Golub. He was vice president, sales and merchandising, and had previously worked for Adams Super Food Stores and Purity Supreme.
• David Golub was promoted to vice president of administration, reporting to Jerry Golub. He has been vice president, store operations, since May 2006.
• Russell Zwanka was promoted to vice president, sales, merchandising and marketing, reporting to Kelley. Zwanka most recently was vice president of merchandising.
• Mike Davidson has been promoted to vice president, operations, also reporting to Kelley. He most recently was regional vice president, operations, and previously had worked for Marsh Supermarkets and Tops.
• Mark Chandler was promoted to vice president, supply chain, reporting to Jerry Golub. Before joining Price Chopper in 2005, he was the CPG industry director for Kurt Salmon Associates.
• Bob Doyle has been promoted to vice president, distribution, reporting to Chandler. Doyle, who joined the company in 1976, most recently was vice president, warehousing.
In addition, Ron Cellupica, senior vice president, distribution/transportation, is retiring after 36 years, the company said.
