WASHINGTON — Former president and chief executive officer of the Grocery Manufacturers Association, C. Manly Molpus, will assume the role of interim president and CEO of GMA when Cal Dooley leaves the association for a similar position at the American Chemistry Council in September. Molpus is currently president of the Molpus Advisory Group. He served as president and CEO of GMA from 1990 to 2006. “As we work to find the next president and CEO of GMA, we have asked Manly to take the helm of GMA on an interim basis, and we are pleased that he has agreed to help,” said Doug Conant, president and CEO of Campbell’s Soup Co. and chairman of GMA’s board of directors, in a statement. “Given his experience and knowledge of our industry, he is the logical choice to help guide the organization during this time of change, and I look forward to working with him to fulfill the association’s ongoing mission, as well as to ensure a smooth transition with the new GMA president and CEO.” Molpus will serve in the role until Dooley’s successor is named.
