GREENFIELD, Mass. — The Organic Trade Association here has named Christine Bushway as its new executive director. Bushway will oversee the membership-based organization, which advocates on behalf of the more than $20 billion organic industry. A graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Bushway has worked for trade organizations and as a consultant for the food and agriculture industries, most recently serving as director of state programs for the American Egg Board. “With recent strengthening of OTA’s organizational infrastructure and policy success with passage of the organic provisions in the 2008 Farm Bill, the association is well positioned to continue on a growth trajectory, and Christine is the right leader for OTA at this time,” said Julia Sabin, head of the OTA’s board of directors. Bushway replaces previous director Caren Wilcox to become the third executive director in the OTA’s 23-year history.
