Publix CEO & president Todd Jones announced two new officer positions for the start of 2018. The promotions became necessary as a result of what the company called “expanding initiatives and increased efforts surrounding innovation,” in a release.

Randy Barber, the current director of industrial maintenance, will be promoted to vice president of industrial maintenance and purchasing. His new officer role will entail facilities and manufacturing supply purchasing responsibilities in addition to overseeing the industrial maintenance needs of the company.

The Florida-based store is also promoting Pete Mowitt to the role of vice president of product business development for bakery and meat. Currently overseeing the development of grocery and non-foods, Mowitt will retain the responsibility of managing the store’s dairy and frozen business areas as well as handling space management.

Mowitt will be replaced by Brad Oliver who will now take on the position of vice president of product business development for dry grocery and non-foods. Oliver is currently business development director of direct store delivery products.

Publix currently has 1,160 stores across the Southeast and mid-Atlantic regions of the United States.
