Western grocer Raley’s has elevated human resources executive Laura Croff to the post of senior vice president of people.

Raley’s said yesterday that Croff, previously vice president of people, directs all aspects of the West Sacramento, Calif.-based company’s HR strategy, including talent management, leadership development, labor relations, compensation and benefits. In tandem with the executive committee, she also is charged with ensuring that Raley’s fosters “a culture that attracts, retains and develops the best teams,” the retailer said.

With more than 20 years of HR experience, Croff has spent 13 years at Raley’s serving in various HR and labor relations roles. She worked for Raley’s from 2002 to 2011 and then returned to the company in 2016. In December 2018, she was promoted from
senior director of HR to vice president of people.

Before rejoining Raley’s, Croff worked for the Farmers’ Rice Cooperative as director of HR and labor relations. She started her retail career with department store chain Macy’s, moving into management and then HR. After that, she led HR for Lyon’s Restaurants, a large California-based restaurant chain, and then joined the Farmers’ Rice Cooperative to lead its HR department.
