Kendra Doyel has been promoted to vice president of merchandising at The Kroger Co.’s Ralphs supermarket banner.

Los Angeles-based Ralphs said yesterday that Doyel, who was senior director of human resources and labor relations, is slated to start in her new role on Feb. 3. She will report to Mike Murphy, president of the Ralphs division.

"Already a valued asset to the Ralphs team, Kendra exemplifies the strategic vision, leadership and execution skills needed for the position," Murphy said in a statement.

“I am honored to be a part of such an incredible organization and team, as we work together to execute our Restock Kroger strategy and position Ralphs for continued success in the future," Doyel commented.

Ralphs operates 191 supermarkets across Southern California.

Doyel has been the HR leader at Ralphs and Kroger’s Food 4 Less divisions since 2017. In addition to that role, she serves as vice president of public affairs and government relations for Ralphs and Food 4 Less, having been appointed to that post in 2008. Doyel came to those divisions from Kroger’s Fry’s Food Stores unit, where she had been director of public relations since 2006. She joined the Kroger organization in 1998 as a pharmacist at Fry’s and was promoted to pharmacy coordinator at the chain in 2002.
