January 5, 2022
Tom Henry, chief data officer and deputy chief information officer at Schnuck Markets, has joined the company’s strategy team.
The promotion is effective immediately, St. Louis-based Schnucks said Wednesday. With the move, Henry will expand his current leadership role to include the execution of initiatives that support the regional grocer’s strategic plan.
Henry (left) joined Schnucks as chief data and analytics officer in January 2019 before adding the deputy CIO title this past May.
“I’ve enjoyed collaborating with my Schnucks teammates to create data solutions that help us to better serve our Schnucks customers,” Henry said in a statement. “I’m honored to take this new leadership role and look forward to expanding my scope of responsibilities within the company.”
Schnucks noted that, since coming to the company, Henry has led the development of its data and analytics organization, which provides actionable insights to all of the retailer’s business units. Previously, he spent more than 14 years at pharmacy benefits manager Express Scripts, now owned by health insurance giant Cigna. According to Schnucks, Henry helped position Express Scripts among the health care industry’s leaders in delivery of data-driven insights and advanced analytics.
Prior to Express Scripts, Henry also spent nearly 10 years at Union Pacific Corp., most recently as diretor of account management and customer care.
“Tom is not only well-known in his area of expertise, but also continues to demonstrate a proactive approach to shape our competitive landscape,” Schnuck Markets Chairman and CEO Todd Schnuck commented. “His intense focus on ‘Nourishing People’s Lives’, combined with his creativity and curiosity, make him a valued leader for our strategy team and our company.”
Overall, Schnuck Markets operates 111 grocery stores in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin and has a workforce of 13,000 employees.
