SpartanNash hires Erin Storm as CMO
Storm spent 18 years with Kellogg’s and its spin-off, Kellanova
SpartanNash on Monday named former Kellogg’s executive Erin Storm its new SVP and chief marketing officer.
Storm will oversee all marketing functions for the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based food company, including private label, retail marketing, ecommerce, digital, creative services, shopper insights, and loyalty.
She joins SpartanNash following 18 years with Kellogg’s and its spin-off, Kellanova, where she was most recently VP of commercial strategy. Before that, she served as VP of marketing and also led the Cheez-It brand marketing team. Throughout her career, Storm has also provided leadership for brands that include Froot Loops, Frosted Mini Wheats, Special K, Rice Krispies Treats, Eggo, MorningStar Farms, Kellogg’s Raisin Bran, Frosted Flakes, and Apple Jacks.
“Erin is a talented brand marketer with proven success in growing the demand for products that have become popular household favorites,” SpartanNash CEO Tony Sarsam said in a statement. “She will play a pivotal role in driving brand awareness for retail banners and OwnBrands portfolio, capturing marketing share, and leveraging consumer insights for product innovation.”
Private label has been a growing area of investment for SpartanNash. In July, the company launched 400 new OwnBrands products at its annual Food Solutions Expo. SpartanNash also recently introduced a new premium line of private label items, Finest Reserve.
SpartanNash is a multi-channel company that operates 147 brick-and-mortar grocery stores under the banners Family Fare, Martin’s Super Markets and D&W Fresh Market, as well as a global supply chain wholesale network that services independent and chain grocers, national retail brands, ecommerce platforms, and military commissaries and exchanges.
