URM CEO and President Ray Sprinkle will step down from his position after 22 years with Spokane, Wash.-based URM and over 50 years in the industry, effective July 2025.

Sprinkle, an alum from Kansas State University, began his career in the grocery business working for companies such as Dillon’s (Kroger), Super Stores Industries, SAV-U-FOODS, and Fleming. In 2003, URM Stores, Inc hired Sprinkle as the vice president of procurement, retail services, and profit centers.

In March of 2013, the URM Board of Directors appointed Sprinkle as the CEO and president of URM Stores, Inc and its wholly owned subsidiaries, Rosauers Supermarkets and Peirone Produce.

Under Sprinkle’s leadership of URM Stores, Inc, the company achieved significant growth, according to a press release. From 2012 through 2023, sales surged by 53%, and membership rebates were up some 232%.

Sprinkle has been actively involved in his community and the broader industry. He has served on the boards of 2nd Harvest, Feeding Washington, National Grocers Association, Retailer Owned Food Distributors, and the Washington Food Industry Association.

Recruiting for a new CEO will begin in the new calendar year, the company said.
