WINN-DIXIE HIRES WEGMANS VETERAN

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Winn-Dixie Stores here announced that Mary Kellmanson has joined the company as vice president of marketing, reporting directly to Dan Portnoy, chief merchandising and marketing officer. Kellmanson will oversee the day-to-day and strategic operations of the company's marketing, advertising and communications efforts, succeeding Dave Henry, who has served as Winn-Dixie's senior vice president of marketing since 2001 and is retiring. Prior to joining Winn-Dixie, Kellmanson spent nearly 15 years at Wegmans Food Markets, most recently as vice president of advertising and marketing.

ALBERTSONS LLC ELEVATES DORCHEUS

BOISE, Idaho — Albertsons LLC said Shane Dorcheus has been promoted to president of the Southwest Division, which includes stores in Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico. Most recently, Dorcheus was vice president of operations for this division. He succeeds Bob Colgrove, who left the company in June. Dorcheus has been with Albertsons LLC since its inception in June 2006, and previously held positions of increasing responsibility in store and division operations at predecessor Albertsons Inc. throughout his 28-year career.

SPARTAN PROMOTES HARTLINE TO EVP

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Spartan Stores here has appointed Alan Hartline executive vice president of merchandising. In this position he will continue to lead merchandising strategies for the company's retail and distribution divisions. Hartline joined Spartan in 2003 as vice president of retail merchandising and was named senior vice president of merchandising in 2007. Prior to joining Spartan, he was strategic business manager at Daymon Worldwide, leading a team in the category development group in Stamford, Conn. Earlier, he spent two years with A&P's Midwest division and 15 years with Kroger Co.

CAPANO NAMED TO WAKEFERN BOARD

ELIZABETH, N.J. — Wakefern Food Corp. has named Ken Capano to its 22-member board of directors. He is the president and owner of Five Star Supermarkets, which operates two ShopRite stores in Connecticut. Capano first joined Wakefern in 1972 as a store services supervisor, and he became a member of the wholesaling co-op in 1996 when he purchased the ShopRite of Norwich, Conn. He recently was recognized by the Connecticut Food Association with the group's 2008 Man of the Year award.
