CARLISLE, Pa. — Ahold USA said Friday it has named Paul Scorza, a 30-year veteran of IBM, as its new chief information officer, effective April 1.
Scorza, who will be based in the company’s Quincy, Mass., offices, will oversee all Ahold USA information management functions, with a focus on the development and implementation of systems and business processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness, controls, and operations across the company. He will report to Paula Price, executive vice president of finance and chief financial officer.
Scorza succeeds John Dettenwanger, who left Ahold USA in January after two and a half years as CIO, according to his LinkedIn profile.
At IBM, Scorza has held several executive posts and most recently was worldwide sector leader for IBM Global Account Infrastructure.
“Paul will play a crucial role in supporting the Ahold USA leadership team, helping to modernize our technology tool set and simplify the way we do business to position the company for future growth,” Price said in a statement.
