BOISE, Idaho -- Albertsons LLC here said Friday it plans to close 11 unprofitable stores in Texas by March 11. The closures will affect approximately 770 employees. A spokeswoman said employees in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex will be offered positions at nearby stores, while those in other regions who cannot relocate will receive severance pay. Of the 11 stores, six are in the Metroplex, two are in Austin, two are in Amarillo and one is in Lubbock. All stores are approximately 55,000 square feet. The closures are in addition to six stores in the Texas region that the company closed in December. -- Elliot Zwiebach
