Allegiance Names Derderian VP of Sales

John Derderian, formerly with Pathmark Stores, was vice president of sales, marketing and member development at Allegiance Retail Services, which provides servies to Foodtown stores and others in the New York/New Jersey area.

ISELIN, N.J. — Allegiance Retail Services here said it has appointed John Derderian to the position of vice president of sales, marketing and member development.

Derderian’s career spans nearly 40 years in the food industry, including various executive-level positions with Pathmark Stores, which is now owned by A&P. Most recently he was founder and managing director of Consumer Comprehension LLC, a retail consultancy engaged in providing marketing communications and strategic planning to the supermarket sector.

Allegiance Retail Services was formed by the Foodtown cooperative last year to provide both Foodtown and non-Foodtown members with marketing, advertising, technological and operational support, as well as the Foodtown private label product lines.
