KANSAS CITY, Kan. — A 35,000-square-foot addition to the corporate headquarters building for Associated Wholesale Grocers opened here Wednesday, according to local reports.

The expanded facility allows AWG to consolidate area offices and bring more than 90 new workers to Kansas City, according to the Unified Government of Wyandotte County, which earlier this year issued $6.5 million in industrial revenue bonds for the project. The project also qualified for a 10-year county tax-abatement policy.

The location is also home to AWG’s Kansas City distribution center and its Valu Merchandisers division.
