The stores are set to close between March 22 and July 12. Bi-Lo, which operates the Bi-Lo and Winn-Dixie banners, is expected to rebanner the 134 stores it is acquiring to its existing brand names following the closing of the deal.
Seven stores set for closure are located in Florida (Sweetbay units in Naples, Dade City and Zephyrhills; Winn-Dixie stores in St. Petersburg, Tarpon Springs, and Seffner; and Harveys stores in Green Cove Springs and Tallahassee. Also set for closure are a Winn-Dixie store in Moultrie, Ga.; Reid’s stores in Walterboro, Cayce and Orangeburg; and a Bi-Lo store in Aiken, S.C.
As reported previously in SN, Delhaize America is retaining two stores — one Harveys and one Reid’s — and will convert them to the Food Lion banner. Combined with the planned closures and divestitures, Bi-Lo Holdings will wind up with 134 new stores.
