CHICAGO — Political activist Jesse Jackson addressed the National Diversity Retailers & Suppliers Reception, held in conjunction with the Food Marketing Institute Show here last week. Jackson encouraged minority suppliers and thanked sponsor Coca-Cola for its work promoting diversity and spurring development in Third World countries. Also in attendance was singer Smokey Robinson, who has launched his “Soul Is in the Bowl” line of soups. The event, held at the Four Seasons Hotel, was organized by the African-American Supermarket Owners Share Group.
