H-E-B set to open new Texas store later this month

The grocer preps for a July 19 grand opening

H-E-B is making grand opening plans for a new store in McKinney, Texas. Construction  began in March 2022, and now the grocer says the new 118,000-square-foot store will be open for business on Wednesday, July 19. 

This is the latest store for the Texas-based grocery chain, which has made its way to North Texas after spending most of its 100 year existence in south and central Texas, reports local news outlet Fox 4.

The new McKinney store includes True Texas BBQ, where shoppers can order BBQ by the plate or pound with additional sides. Consumers can also use curbside grocery pickup as well as home delivery, and a fuel station with a car wash. Other store highlights include: 

  • Market: Prime and natural beef cut fresh in-store 

  • Seafood: Seafood delivered daily

  • Sushiya: Prepard sushi in-store daily

  • Produce: Local and organic produce

  • Scratch Bakery & Tortilleria: bread, tortillas, and desserts 

  • Beer and wine: Experts can provide recommendations

  • Cooking connection: Live cooking demonstrations with daily sampling by in-store chefs

  • Healthy living: bulk foods, vitamins, and sports nutrition options 

  • Pharmacy with a drive-thru lane
