MATTHEWS, N.C. — Harris Teeter Supermarkets here debuted its new gourmet concept stores called 201 Central this week with two grand openings.

The new banner features its own website — www.201central.com — that touts such amenities as a cigar humidor, a “Fine Wines Club,” a café and equipment for at-home beer-brewing, in addition to an assortment of specialty and prepared foods.

Services include event coordination and party rentals, as well as educational classes focused on wine, beer and food pairings.

As previously reported, the locations were acquired though a swap with Lowes Food Stores and converted to the new test concept.

The two stores, measuring about 30,000 square feet, are located in Huntersville and Wesley Chapel, N.C.
