Sales at Harris Teeter increased by 14.7% to $3.3 billion during the fiscal fourth quarter ended Sept. 30, parent company Ruddick Corp. said Thursday.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Sales at Harris Teeter increased by 14.7% to $3.3 billion during the fiscal fourth quarter ended Sept. 30, parent company Ruddick Corp. said Thursday. The increase in sales was attributable to new store opening activity, partially offset by store closings and divestitures, and comparable-store sales increases of 5.9% for the quarter. Operating profit increased 34.3% to $40.5 million, or 4.71% of sales, during the quarter.
