Jackson Resigns as Head of Wal-Mart Procurement

BENTONVILLE, Ark. -- Wal-Mart Stores here said yesterday that Lawrence Jackson, president and chief executive officer of global procurement, has resigned, effective Feb. 9, and that Jeff Macho has been promoted to senior vice president of global procurement, effective immediately.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. -- Wal-Mart Stores here said yesterday that Lawrence Jackson, president and chief executive officer of global procurement, has resigned, effective Feb. 9, and that Jeff Macho has been promoted to senior vice president of global procurement, effective immediately. Jackson joined Wal-Mart in 2004 from Dollar General Corp., where he was president and chief operating officer, and before that he had been an executive at Safeway and PepsiCo. "Throughout the past 30 years as I've built my career, my family has been unselfishly supportive," Jackson said in a statement. "I now have three teenagers, and have decided to spend more time with them and my wife." Macho, based in Shenzen, China, joined Wal-Mart in 2005 as vice president and managing director of apparel merchandising in global procurement.
