LAKEVILLE, Minn. - Upscale independent operator Kowalski's Markets said last week it would close its store here after it had just opened the location in August of last year, according to local reports. The Woodbury, Minn.-based operator told the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal that the store was "never able to attract the same level of customer support" that it enjoys at its eight other supermarkets. The store is scheduled to close Jan. 15. Officials at Kowalski's could not be reached for comment.
