Kroger Names Wright to Oversee Perishables Donations
Kroger Co. on Friday said it has named Kathleen Wright director of the company’s Perishable Donations Partnership, a project designed to increase the company’s contribution of fresh foods to America’s Second Harvest food banks.

CINCINNATI — Kroger Co. here on Friday said it has named Kathleen Wright director of the company’s Perishable Donations Partnership, a project designed to increase the company’s contribution of fresh foods to America’s Second Harvest food banks. The company said it currently donates about 8 million pounds of fresh food annually from 300 stores in four states, but hopes to expand that effort chainwide to reach 50 million pounds of perishables donations. Wright is a 25-year veteran of the industry who most recently was director of food safety for Kroger’s Fred Meyer division.
