Kroger Sells Former Ice Cream Plant

CINCINNATI — Kroger Co. here has sold a former ice cream plant in Marietta, Ga., to Talenti Gelato, the Cobb (County) Chamber of Commerce said.

CINCINNATI — Kroger here has sold a former ice cream plant in Marietta, Ga., to Talenti Gelato, the Cobb (County) Chamber of Commerce said.

Terms were not disclosed.

Talenti, a food manufacturer based in Minneapolis, said it would expand the facility and relocate its primary production headquarters there. Talenti manufactures gelato and sorbetto carried in supermarkets including Kroger.

Kroger previously operated its Southern Ice Cream Specialties plant in Marietta, but closed the plant earlier this year as part of a consolidation of its manufacturing plants.
