Kroger Settles with Cincinnati, West Virginia Unions

CINCINNATI — Kroger here said Friday that it had come to terms with union-represented workers here and in West Virginia on separate new contracts. In Cincinnati, the retailer and 11,000 workers at 75 Kroger stores represented by United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1099 agreed only hours before a potential strike deadline. According to the union, the new deal does not include any benefit cuts. More details on the agreement were forthcoming the union said. A tentative agreement with UFCW Local 400, Charleston, W.Va., covers more than 3,250 associates at 41 stores in multiple cities in West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio, Kroger added.
