Meijer to Invest $123 Million in Michigan

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Meijer Inc. here said it plans to invest $123 million in Michigan this year, including an $18 million expansion of its distribution center in Lansing.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Meijer Inc. here said it plans to invest $123 million in Michigan this year, including an $18 million expansion of its distribution center in Lansing. It also plans three new stores in Clinton, Macomb and Wayne counties and five remodels. The $123 million investment represents a decline from the past two years -- Meijer said it spent $207 million in Michigan in 2005 and $132 million in 2006. Meijer has 89 stores and three DCs in the state.
