BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Bruno’s Supermarkets here said it has named Kent Moore president and chief executive officer, succeeding David West, who remains chairman of the board. Moore, who had joined Bruno’s as its chief financial officer in June, previously was CEO of United Supermarkets, Lubbock, Texas, from 1998-2004. He began his industry career in 1985 as an outside auditor for Randalls Food Markets, Houston, before joining United in 1989 as its CFO. Lone Star Funds, the parent of Bruno’s, earlier this year split the 67-store chain away from its sister banner, Bi-Lo, which Lone Star has been seeking to sell.
